THE DEAL
Ax Church is about average people making Jesus famous. We believe that Jesus (His teaching, love, sacrifice) is the answer to the challenges that face the Illinois Valley today. Instead of investing time and money into programs, we want to invest in people. Our goal is to see lost and hurting people healed and empowered to accomplish God’s specific purpose for their life.
GONNA CUT YOU DOWN
Our name is partly a play on words from the Acts church of The Bible and partly from Luke 3:9 that states, “The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” We at Ax believe that people who have a relationship with Christ should prove it by their actions. That would only make sense, right? We connect with James 2:18 that says, “Show me your faith without deeds and I will show you my faith by what I do.” We never want our words to walk further than our feet.
"CHURCH" SUCKS
Ax Church has a special place in its heart for the frightened, forgotten, down-and-out and rebellious. After all, that’s who we used to be. We want to bring hope to these people. Our goal is that those who would never feel comfortable walking into a church somehow feel comfortable to walk into Ax because of what we do. We also love kids and hope to do tremendous things to help those in need. We want to see families reconciled and fathers learning to love their children once again.
STRAIGHT UP
As a church we are a strange breed. We desperately love Jesus, but we could really care less about religion. Ax Church has no interest in denominational lines. Instead, we hope to see all believers united because of Christ. We really just want to love God and then love everyone. We like when things stay simple and don’t get complicated by a bunch of unnecessary pieces. So here it is plain and simple, Ax Church is about YOU understanding how Jesus saved your life and what to do from there.
